My Origin Story: Why I Devoted My Life to Women’s Bone Health

Our approach to women’s bone health has been shaped by personal experience, clinical training, movement science, and years of working closely with women who have concerns about strength, bone health, confidence, and long-term independence.

Where the Story Began

Strength Was Part of My Understanding of Women From the Beginning

I grew up in Romania, in a small agricultural community where women worked with remarkable physical strength and endurance. They harvested crops, tended fields, cared for animals, and carried out demanding daily tasks that required power, stability, and resilience. They moved through life with a quiet confidence that came from knowing their bodies could support them: not simply for a season, but for a lifetime. That image stayed with me and shaped my understanding of what may be possible when strength is preserved, nurtured, and respected. But when I began practising clinically, I saw a very different reality for many women.

Strength Across a Lifetime

Physical capability shaped Dr Claudia’s earliest understanding of healthy aging and the sense of freedom that can come from maintaining strength, confidence, and physical independence throughout life.

A Different Clinical Reality

Her later clinical work introduced her to women who felt uncertain about what they could safely do after learning they had osteoporosis, reduced bone density, or other concerns involving bone health.

Confidence Through Capability

Movement and physical strength became central themes in how Dr Claudia viewed confidence, daily function, healthy aging, and the ability to maintain independence through different stages of life.

A Focus on Women

Those early experiences and later clinical observations helped shape the direction of Dr. Claudia Tamas's women's health work at Natural Medicine & Rehabilitation in Somerset, New Jersey.

Why This Work Became PersonalCare at Every Stage

Replacing Fear With Education, Strength, and Informed Clinical Guidance

Women were being told frightening things about their bones: warnings that made them afraid to move, afraid to bend, afraid to lift, and afraid to live. They were given fear-based recommendations that encouraged them to “be careful,” “avoid lifting,” or “just walk,” even though evidence shows that these approaches often make women weaker, increasingly anxious, and potentially more vulnerable to fractures.

I watched women shrink their lives out of fear. And I knew it didn’t have to be this way.

As a Doctor of Physical Therapy, Adult-Gerontology Nurse Practitioner, and Strength & Conditioning Specialist, I understood the science: bones respond to load. Muscles respond to challenge. Confidence grows through capability. Independence is preserved through strength.

The research is detailed and inspiring: Women have incredible potential to rebuild strength, improve bone density, and stay independent at every age. But they need the right guidance, the right information, and the right kind of exercise: the kind that significantly loads bone and muscle in order to evoke a real physiological response.

01

Replace Fear With Understanding

Clear information can help you better understand your health, physical capabilities, and available options instead of allowing fear or uncertainty to dictate how you move and live.

02

Build Strength With Purpose

Exercise recommendations should reflect your health history, current capabilities, individual goals, and the type and level of physical stimulus being considered for your needs.

03

Consider the Whole Health Picture

Bone health can be influenced by factors beyond exercise, including hormones, metabolism, nutrition, lifestyle, movement patterns, and other individual health considerations that may be relevant.

04

Keep Independence in Focus

Our goal is to help you make informed decisions that support movement, strength, confidence, physical capability, and everyday function as you move through different stages of life.

here the Story Led

Four Areas That Now Shape Dr Claudia’s Work With Women

Dr Claudia’s personal experiences, education, and clinical work developed into a focused approach connecting women’s health, bone health, strength, movement, and individualized care. Each area reflects an important part of that progression.

Bone Health

Dr Claudia Tamas bone health care considers strength and movement alongside relevant factors such as nutrition, hormones, metabolism, body composition, and lifestyle when these areas are appropriate for the individual patient.

Osteoporosis

Dr. Claudia Tamas osteoporosis care focuses on helping women better understand their condition, physical capabilities, movement options, health concerns, and appropriate next steps based on an individual evaluation.

ONERO®

Dr Claudia Tamas's ONERO experience grew from a search for a research-based strength and impact approach specifically developed for people living with osteoporosis and low bone density.

Women’s Health

Dr Claudia Tamas's women's health work also includes relevant midlife concerns such as perimenopause, menopause, weight management, metabolism, body composition support, and related changes affecting women as they age.

Why Women Seek Answers

Bone Health Concerns Can Change How You Think About Movement

An osteoporosis diagnosis or concerns about declining bone density can create uncertainty about exercise, everyday movement, aging, and physical activity. Individual guidance can help place those concerns into a clearer clinical and personal context.

Fear After an Osteoporosis Diagnosis

Some women become hesitant about lifting, bending, exercising, or performing normal daily activities after learning they have osteoporosis or reduced bone density. An appropriate evaluation can provide clearer guidance about what may fit your individual situation.

Confusion About Safe Exercise

General exercise advice does not always address the specific goals or physical demands of bone-focused training. Your health history, exercise experience, strength, balance, current abilities, and individual concerns all matter when recommendations are considered.

Changes Through Midlife

Perimenopause and menopause may coincide with changes involving hormones, metabolism, body composition, muscle, strength, and bone health. Depending on your needs, these factors may need to be considered together rather than viewed separately.

Protecting Long-Term Independence

Many women want to remain capable, physically active, confident, and independent as they age. Strength, movement, health education, and individualised clinical guidance can support those long-term priorities.

The Turning Point

Discovering ONERO® Connected the Science With the Care I Wanted to Provide

When I discovered ONERO®, everything clicked. It was the missing piece: a safe, research-based, high-impact strength program designed specifically for osteoporosis. Over the years, I’ve guided hundreds of women through ONERO®, helping them become stronger, more confident, and safer in their bodies than they ever thought possible.

But bone health is never just about bones.

Women deserve care that looks at the whole picture: hormones, digestion, blood sugar control, inflammation, toxic exposure, movement patterns, nutrition, and lifestyle. That’s why I practice integrative bone health, addressing the root causes that influence bone density, fracture risk, and long-term independence.

I do this work because women deserve better. Better information. Better guidance. Better outcomes. Better futures.

I do this work because I believe, deeply, that women are capable of extraordinary strength at every stage of life.

And I do this work because I want every woman to feel what I saw growing up: the freedom that comes from feeling safe in your body.

For people searching for the Dr. Claudia Tamas osteoporosis journey or wanting to understand the background behind Dr. Claudia Tamas ONERO, this progression from personal experience to clinical practice to strength-focused bone health care explains why these areas became central to her professional work.

From Philosophy to Patient Care

How This Perspective Guides Bone Health Care at NMR

The experiences behind Dr. Claudia Tamas’s bone health story continue to shape how we approach conversations about women’s bone health at Natural Medicine & Rehabilitation. We consider your individual history, concerns, capabilities, and goals rather than relying on the same recommendation for every woman.

Start With Your Individual Story

Your health history, current concerns, personal goals, lifestyle, and physical capabilities provide important context for clinical recommendations. Your care should reflect the factors that are relevant to you and your current stage of health.

Consider Strength and Movement Capacity

Your current ability to move, exercise, balance, lift, and tolerate physical challenge can influence which strategies may be appropriate, how they are introduced, and how your progress may be approached.

Look at Relevant Health Factors

Depending on your individual needs, bone health discussions may consider hormones, metabolism, nutrition, body composition, lifestyle, movement, and other factors that may influence your broader health picture.

Build Understanding Alongside Care

We want you to understand why a recommendation is being considered, how it relates to your health and goals, and how different elements of care may fit within your longer-term priorities.

How Women’s Health and Bone Health Can Intersect

Bone health does not exist separately from the physical and health changes women may experience during midlife. Perimenopause, menopause, metabolism, muscle, body composition, nutrition, lifestyle, and individual health history may all be relevant when developing a personalized health strategy.

I have had nothing but great experiences at NMR. I came highly recommended by my bodybuilding coach at the time to see Jeremey, DPT. This was first for just general physical therapy for tendinitis of the knee. Once I began coming for some time, I realized all of the great things NMR and Jeremy had to offer such as needling, cupping, muscle work, etc!

I went through 20 sessions to increase the bone density in my hip. Right away, Emily encouraged me that it is indeed possible to improve my score. They are skilled at instructing exercises that target specific areas. It's hard to believe how much stronger I feel already. It was a pleasure working with Emily and Paige. They are a tremendous encouragement, professional and kind. They encouraged me to join a gym and they gave me a routine to follow which is very helpful. I'm really glad I came and I'm doing much better. Thank you for all your help to me and my husband.
