Physical and Occupational Therapy is a natural way to help your body recover from the pain and plays a critical part for a patient to not only feel better but to actually be better and stronger. Physical rehabilitation plays a critical part in most patient’s care at NMR. Therapeutic Reconditioning Exercises are used to develop and improve muscle strength while improving flexibility, range of motion, mobility, balance, and coordination. Occupational Therapy ensures our patients are able to return to their activities of daily living and live life to their fullest potential.
Our passion is to not only have a patient feel better but to actually be better and stronger. Joint, muscle, and spinal problems demand stability, strength, and conditioning if one is not only to feel better but also to restore function and prevent similar or worse problems in the future. Our goal of pain management is to identify the mechanical and functional cause of the pain, not simply symptom relief. Treatment plans are designed to decrease pain, accelerate healing, improve mobility, strength, and function, and teach skills needed to prevent injury in the future.
With rehabilitation at NMR, a patient is progressed to and educated toward becoming as functional and independently capable as possible. The primary components of conditioning are employed with each rehabilitation program:
Work and sport specific rehabilitation is also an integral part of the rehabilitative services for many patients at NMR.
