Guasha Treatment provided by our Acupuncturist can help reduce healing time after Wisdom Teeth are removed

Getting wisdom teeth pulled is painful, and swelling is a common side effect!  Our Acupuncturist can help!  Swelling in the face and mouth typically drains into the lymph ducts, but they can be easily overwhelmed after this procedure and may need help clearing.  Our Acupuncturist, Ellen Policastri, uses a popular soft tissue technique used in traditional Chinese medicine called Guasha (Direct Translation: Scraping Bruises). The red tone on the skin is a result of increased micro-perfusion, or increased blood flow, by use of a soft tissue tool. Increased blood flow increases the amount of healing cells delivered to an injured tissue which decreases healing time. Guasha Treatment to the neck and face can help reduce swelling and provide relief from the throbbing and pulsing feeling you may experience after getting your wisdom teeth removed.

For over 5000 years, acupuncture has been used to provide drug-free treatment for pain and dis-ease by encouraging the body to promote natural healing.
