The First 100 Days: A journey to health & wellness.
Over the next 100 days, Sean & Kristen will follow NMR’s weight management plan.  Their journey to health & wellness will revolve around the non-disputable principles of healthy nutrition, dietary glycemic control and metabolic repair.  It will take into consideration their medical history, body composition, nutritional needs an their short-term and long-term weight loss and fitness goals.  This plan not only helps you lose weight but more importantly you learn how to manage your weight by learning:

The First 100 Days: Sean bioMeet Sean:
My goals for the First 100 Days:
• Lose 25 lbs.
• Learn how to maintain a healthy lifestyle
• Inspire others to begin the journey to health & wellness
Occupation: Registered Nurse, Licensed Massage Therapist and Biofeedback Therapist
Age 33
Weight 205 lbs.
BMI 30.3 (Obese BMI = 30+)
Blood Pressure 128/84
Resting Heart 79 b.p.m.

What motivated me to begin this journey?
As a healthcare provider it is my responsibility to teach people the benefits of developing a healthy lifestyle. I know the benefits of living a healthy lifestyle and I know the risks of living an unhealthy lifestyle but my problem is, I don’t know how to maintain a healthy lifestyle.

Over the post 15 years my weight has fluctuated between 170 – 260 lbs. About 5 years ago I started running in an effort to lose weight. I lost 40 lbs. and was able to keep it off for
2 1/2 years. I’m not sure when I lost the commitment and the effort required to maintain a healthy lifestyle, but what I do know is that I have regained 25 lbs. I now have prehypertension and a high resting heart-rate. If I do not regain control of my life and maintain a healthy lifestyle I am at great risk for having a heart attack, a stroke or developing type 2 diabetes. This journey is much more than losing weight and looking good, it truly is a journey to learn what it takes to maintain a healthy lifestyle and be WELL.

The First 100 Days: Kristen bio

  • Tone my back muscles so I can show them off in my wedding dress this October
Occupation:  Licensed Esthetician & Licensed Massage Therapist
    Age 28
    Weight 185 lbs.
    BMI 28.1 (Overweight = 25-29.9)
    Blood Pressure 118/76
    Resting Heart Rate 66 b.p.m.

What motivated you to begin this journey?

For as long as I can remember, I have always struggled with my weight. Programs that require structure, like Insanity, have worked for me in the past but somewhere along the way I lose my motivation and go back to making unhealthy lifestyle choices. Most recently I trained for my first 1/2 marathon, the Marine Corp Half Marathon in 5/2013. I followed a regimented exercise and diet program every step of the way. On race day not only did I accomplish my goal, I crushed my goal…by 7 minutes! Within a few months after completing that race, I again lost the motivation to eat well and work-out consistently.

I’m about to start a new chapter in my life. I’m getting married this October and I want to be the healthiest I can be for not only myself, but for my future husband and our future children.
