DAY 2 of The First 100 Days: A journey to health & wellness

The first 100 days: A journey to health and wellness.
Day #2

Sean:
Today I feel MUCH better than yesterday! (Recap day #1) Last night I felt very nauseous and had a terrible tension headache. Although flu-like symptoms are not uncommon, it usually occurs 2-3 days into the detox. Whew, I’m glad that is over.

This morning I woke up feeling great. I didn’t feel like I needed or even wanted coffee and this is coming from a guy who has been drinking 3-4 cups of coffee a day for years. I thought it would take much longer to get to stop craving coffee. I guess I’m on the detoxifying fast track. I do still miss cookies and brownies, I don’t think that will ever go away.

Throughout the day I felt hungry a few times but I never felt like I was starving. Last night and this morning, Kristen and I prepared salads (salads were made and stored in mason jars) and veggie dishes to hold us over for the next few days. There are a few more foods and fluids that we are allowed to eat but do not require much preparation. Planning and preparing meals ahead of time is something we will continue to do after the detox.

I’ll finish today’s entry with a big THANK YOU, to all of you who have sent their support and encouragement. We appreciate every ‘like’ and comment.

Kristen:
This morning I woke up to the sound of our blender. Sean was making our smoothies for the day AT 8:00AM!! After we made lots of veggies and salads I headed back to the farmers market for more ingredients, I way under estimated how many veggies and greens we would go through!

At the end of Day 2, I still feel great and never really felt hungry or starving. Today was a snow day for me, hopefully I’ll be back to work tomorrow and see if “real-life” will affect my hunger level.
