DAY 5 of The First 100 Days: A journey to health & wellness

The first 100 days: A journey to health and wellness.
Day #5

 Sean:
if you have any questions for Kristen or myself about our nutrition plan, exercise plan or general questions about our journey to health and wellness you can message us on the Natural Medicine & Rehabilitation Facebook page.

I had some great conversations today and over the course of the week with patients and co-workers at NMR, some of whom have recently begun or are interested in beginning their journey to health and wellness. Thank you to all of you. Your feedback and support motivates me to do the best that I can.

Kristen and I weighed ourselves this morning (drum roll…..) I have lost 7 lbs. and Kristen lost 5 lbs. since Monday! We are pretty stoked. The road was a little rocky the first 4 days, even today was tough. My co-worker brought in a delicious (I was told) apple cake and I had to look at it and smell it all day. ROUGH. But I’m sure, the ability to say ‘No thank you’ to delicious treats will get easier over time.

I want to share an app that I have used in the past and be using it much more in the future. The app is called Fooducate. Food manufactures are very good at using healthy words on their packages and labels to disguise how unhealthy the food really is. With Fooducate you can spend less time trying to figure out if your food choice is as good as the manufacture claims. How to: Scan the barcode and Fooducate will grade the food A – F (like in school) and if the food is graded less than an ‘A’ it will suggest an healthy alternative. If you want to know more check it out – http://www.fooducate.com/about

I am not receiving any payment from Fooducate, I am just offering a helpful tip to those of you who are interested.

Kristen:
*No entry from Kristen today, she had to work until 9:30pm today. She asked me to tell everyone that she feels great.
